.asia is now in its Sunrise 3
. asia is now in its Sunrise 3 (SR3) phase Under SR3, holders of .com.au and .net.au domain names may now apply for the corresponding .asia domain name without submitting further documentary evidence (i.e Trademarks, etc). For example, the holder of spiritconnect.com.au can apply for spiritconnect.asia.
The policies for SR3 provide the following specific additions:
- Registered name holders of .com.au domains may apply for the same domain name with the .ASIA registry during SR3.
- In your application you must specify the .com.au or .net.au domain that the application is based on AND the contact details supplied must match those of the corresponding domain name (as found in the Whois)
- Please enter the corresponding .com.au or .net.au domain name in the 'Trademark Name' or Trademark ID' fields when completing applications
- The domain name applied for must correspond to the Entity Name
SR3 opened on November 13 and closes on January 15, 2008; than .asia domains are aviliabale to the general public.
